TRIMMING, TEXT LABELLING AND ENHANCED GPI FUNCTIONALITY FOR PICTURESTORE

Crystal Vision has added new features to two of the products in its Picturestore picture storage range – the MultiLogo logo keyer and Clip N Key clip and sting store.

The first new feature is easy trimming of recorded video clips, which makes it easy to transfer a clip and key from a tape and is available on both MultiLogo and Clip N Key. Using the dedicated MultiLogo control software, it is now possible to step through a clip frame by frame by using the “Next” and “Previous” controls and to set “Mark in” and “Mark out” points. The logo or clip will then run from the new mark in and mark out points, and when the operator is happy he can “Trim” the clip to get rid of the unwanted sections – or alternatively “Cancel” the selection and return to the original. This feature is particularly useful for OBs and studio applications where clip and keys are often supplied on tape, and it also allows flexible use of any clip that has not been prepared for computer download.

The second new feature for MultiLogo is text labelling of presets – designed for easier manual operation of the logo keyer. Using the MultiLogo control software, identifying text can now be assigned to each numbered preset, such as giving the programme name or logo name and its purpose – thereby making it quicker for the operator to select the correct preset.

Finally, MultiLogo gains enhanced GPI functionality, with the introduction of extremely flexible GPI control of each key level – facilitating the inclusion of complicated effects from any mixer or automation system. Previously, MultiLogo provided three GPIs to recall presets (complete setup) and one GPI to give an auto transition between the main and preview bus. In the new system these four GPIs can be toggled between recalling presets and transition control. When transition control is chosen, each GPI can be individually selected to control key levels 1, 2 and 3, start any of the video and audio players or do a mix between main and preview. This allows the three logos to be faded up and down independently and makes it easy to put together a sequence of changes using all three key levels – without the need for advanced planning. The ‘double decker’ version, MultiLogo V431, includes a further four GPIs available for recalling presets. For those that want to drive lights, MultiLogo also now features up to three tallies (one on the V131 version) to indicate whether any of the key levels are faded up.

MultiLogo and Clip N Key are both available in four versions, offering either a 4 GB or 8 GB video store and varying numbers of video inputs. Existing MultiLogo and Clip N Key users can get these new features simply by contacting Crystal Vision for a free firmware upgrade.
