WHO'S BUYING WHAT...? (July 2009)

Here are just a handful of the orders we've received in the last few months…

AUSTRIA
Broadcaster ORF has bought another 53 interface boards from distributor Gelantec. The modules include 15 TANDEM HD-21 audio embedders/de-embedders, 11 SYNNER-E HD multi-functional synchronisers with Dolby E processing and 12 Q-Down123-A-AFD down converters with AFD reading.

BELGIUM
Broadcaster RTC has placed a large order via distributor AV Group, with the 54 boards including the Up-and-down up/down/cross converter, Q-Down183-A down converter and MultiLogo V130 logo keyer.

CZECH REPUBLIC
Sports industry provider The Hego Group has bought two Q-Down123 down converters, purchased through distributor Ivan Javorsky.

DENMARK
The systems division of Studios has bought 46 interface boards from distributor Taurus. These will be used for a system which will provide television coverage for The Danish Parliament.

FRANCE
Broadcaster France 3 has bought 92 of the ARC-10MC aspect ratio converters from distributor Network France, for use in regional news locations around France.

GERMANY
Playout company Cologne Broadcasting Center has bought 14 SYN102 synchronisers and six ViViD124 video delays from distributor SHM Broadcast, to be used for the transmission of the N24 news channel.

ITALY
An ARC-10MC aspect ratio converter has gone to dealer RIMA via distributor FOR-A Italy.

JAPAN
Manufacturer Sony Japan has purchased an ADDEC-210 decoding converter from distributor Matsuda Trading.

LEBANON
Broadcaster Alsumaria TV has bought two ADDEC-310 decoding converters, while news broadcaster Al Arabiya is using two CoCo104 colour correctors – with both orders placed via distributor BCS.

MOROCCO
Dealer LTS Maroc has bought three of the Safire SD 2 upgradeable-to-HD chroma keyers, along with a ViViD124 video delay line.

NEW ZEALAND
Broadcaster TVNZ has purchased four ViViD124 video delays from distributor Mastatek.

PORTUGAL
Broadcaster RTP has bought two of the Up-and-down-AAFD up/down/cross converters with AFD insertion from distributor Pantalha.

SOUTH AFRICA
Distributor Telemedia has bought a variety of interface boards, including converters and distribution amplifiers.

SPAIN
Olympics host broadcaster Olympic Broadcasting Services S. L. has purchased three of the LKEY HD High Definition linear keyers from distributor Eurocom.

TAIWAN
Advance System Integrated has bought 15 MON210 dual channel monitoring encoders.

THAILAND
Broadcaster FMTV has purchased the Demon 2 de-embedding monitor, ADDEC-210 decoding converter and VDA110M HD analogue video DA from distributor HPM.

UAE
Star Media Services has bought a Safire chroma keyer.

uK
33 boards have gone to broadcaster BBC News, including TANDEM-110 audio embedders/de-embedders, DDA108 SDI distribution amplifiers and LKEY211 linear keyers.

Sports production company Input Media is using 86 interface boards for its upgrade to HD, purchased and installed by systems integrator AVC.

SIS LIVE, Europe's largest provider of outside broadcast and uplink facilities, has purchased 36 Q-Down183-A short delay down converters for its coverage of the Queen's and Wimbledon tennis tournaments.

USA
The Church of Resurrection has bought the REFGEN analogue and digital black generator and the VDA110M HD and DDA108 distribution amplifiers.

Virtual set manufacturer Vizrt Inc. has purchased various interface boards, including ViViD124 video delays and an SW808 8 x 8 crosspoint routing switch.

A Safire SD 2 upgradeable chroma keyer has gone to Howard Community College, while Yale University has bought a MultiLogo V131 8G logo keyer via dealer HB Communications.
