What is System Builder?
System Builder is our free product selector software, designed to make it easy to put together a system using Crystal Vision products. It's available on this website - try it now.
What will System Builder allow me to do?
This step-by-step product selector helps you configure your systems by walking you through a series of screens where you select everything you need.
This means you spend less of your valuable time attempting to work out exactly what you need!
How do I log into System Builder?
You can access System Builder in one of two ways.
To try it out you can just log in using your e-mail address, but this allows you to design only one system at a time.
Alternatively you can apply for an account which will give you full access to the system, including being able to store any number of named jobs on the server and recall them later for modification - as well as other benefits. Try System Builder for yourself now.
So what do I do once I've logged into System Builder?
You start the selection process by choosing a board, in one of three ways.
You can enter a Product Code – for example, typing in “DDA” will bring up a list of all modules beginning with these letters.
Alternatively you can enter a keyword such as “converter” and all boards with “converter” in their description will be displayed.
The third option is to select one of the categories on the left side of the screen.
In each case all relevant products are displayed. When you find the product you need, you simply press “Select” to add the board to your ‘system’. See how it works.
How do I add rear modules and accessories using System Builder?
If the chosen product can be fitted with sub PCBs you will then be taken to this page to make your selection. If a compulsory sub PCB is not selected a warning will be given - System Builder won't let you forget anything!
The next two screens show frame rear modules – chosen depending on the inputs and outputs and connectors required – and accessories such as control panels and cables.
At each stage System Builder only gives the options that are applicable for the currently selected board.
Once you've selected everything, System Builder gives you a summary of the chosen board and its configuration, and you can set the quantity required.
You can then either add more boards to your system or alternatively select the 'Finish' button.
At what point do I select frames for my boards?
After all the boards for that ‘system’ have been chosen, frames can be selected and even configured using a wizard on the Frame Selection Page which allows you to allocate boards and rear modules to slots. You can either manually put boards into particular frame slots, or ask System Builder to do it for you. Try System Builder now.
How do I keep track of what's in my system?
The System Summary List contains all the items which have been selected. You can access the System Summary List at any time.
What can I do with the system that I've set up on System Builder?
Your system can be...
- printed for your own reference
- exported to an Excel spreadsheet
